Function hover and navigation [message #69361] Thu, 24 April 2008 14:05 Go to next message

Hi,

Before PDT, i was using eclipse PHP plugin, and still using that.

In that, when i click on a function name by pressing ctrl key
simultaneously, it will take me to the file, in which the function is
present.

Currently, i checked pdt, and its missing that feature. However, if we
click include file names, its hovering, and upon mouseclick+ctrl, it opens
that new file.

Can any one let me know, if the feature is not present, or should i use
any other shortcut keys?

Hi,

You can use "F3" to get to the function, just hightlight the function name
and then press F3.
Hope this help.

Hi,

I tried using F3 and its not working for function.

I am using PDT 3.3.1.1

I am sure, this feature is one of the most wanted, as it serves as a
powerful tool to explore the source code.

I believe you're talking about this bug:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=169062

If so, please vote for it to show your support for it being fixed in PDT
1.1 (Eclipse 3.4 / Web Tools 3.0), and add yourself to the cc: list so
you'll know when it's fixed.

I think you mean Eclipse 3.3.1.1 with PDT 1.0.x. You might want to
consider stepping up to Eclipse 3.4M7 and the latest PDT 1.1 Nightly
build -- N200805xx. Here's how:
