Eclipse CDT hanging on MacBook Pro 10.6.7 [message #668650]

Hello,

I'm having a problem with Eclipse hanging when I run CDT. It seems like most every time it tries to auto complete, it will simply hang and I have to force quit it. During the last hang, I saved the crash information and have attached it. I would appreciate any tips on how I can go about resolving this problem. It makes Eclipse unusable for me.

Which version of Eclipse are you using? Cocoa or Carbon? 32 or 64 Bit? I
have been having lots and lots of hangs with the 64 Bit Cocoa build and
recently switched to the 32 bit Carbon builds and have not had a problem
since.

I would suggest opening a bug on this issue so it could be solved and maybe workaround will bee suggested.

Michael,

Thanks for the reply! I'm using the 64 bit Cocoa build. I tried the 32 bit carbon and it seemed more stable. Unfortunately, the auto completion doesn't seem to be as good. Have you found it to be as good as the Cocoa version?

Hello Paul

Could you post the bug id here? I am running into the same problem. At some random point Eclipse hangs, and I have to force quit it. Also on a Mac with the latest updates.

Btw: I am using Eclipse 3.7M7 with a developer build of CDT

I have put in Bug 345970. I suggest we put all of our comments in there. The
problem I am having is actually getting a Java Stack Trace during the hang
up. Jstack didn't seem to work for me.
