Description
Software engineers, have you ever worked alone at your desk for hours and wondered to yourself "Why didn't I choose a more social occupation?!" Technical sales and support engineers, have you ever answered the same question for the 100th time and wondered "What happened to the 'technical' side of this job?!" If you are looking for a balance of technical depth and client interaction Tasktop currently has a unique opening that while challenge you on both fronts.
As you work with both engineering and sales you'll troubleshoot and diagnose challenging support requests requiring expertise in Eclipse Plugin Development, Java, and ALM tooling. As you work with sales you'll provide compelling custom presentations using countless combinations of ALM tools. While working on larger enterprise accounts, you'll design and architect proof-of-concept solutions that may eventually become core product features.
This position demands an all-around talent that is able to make an impact to Tasktop's engineering and sales efforts.
Qualifications:

Communication
- Clear, concise written communication
- A natural ability to develop relationships, foster trust and relate with ease
- Awareness and sensitivity to differences in language and culture
- Extensive presentation experience
- Client-facing experience as a consultant or support specialist
Technical
- Experience answering user support requests
- Experience using Eclipse as a software developer
- Java development experience
- Familiarity with configuring ALM servers, e.g., Bugzilla, VersionOne, etc.
- Knowledge of Windows/Linux/Mac
- Good understanding of software development practices
Depending on your background and desire there are several available growth paths available in Tasktop's sales engineering or support departments where future leaders and managers are needed to accommodate our continued growth.
Compensation
We provide competitive salaries, ownership via equity, and health benefits. Compensation will depend on your qualifications, expertise and aptitude. This position is located at Tasktop's head office in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Canada. Remote work opportunities exist for exceptional candidates.
