Hi,

I've been using for a while the eclipse cdt package (Helios-SR1). Now i have to switch a little to java, i would like to install the JDT tool into my eclipse installation.

I have download the JRE JDT Tool package (i can't do this from update site, no network), but i have some dependances unresolved (jdt.feature.groupv3.6.2 and platform.feature.groupv3.6.2)...

I guess it's a version problem, is there another solution than using 2 eclipse installations ?

Thanks Smile

The "right" way to do it is to use Install New Software, but if the
machine has no network access it's a bit of a pain. As you've
discovered, installable features have dependencies that are
automatically resolved by the installation manager; to reconstruct them
by hand is a real pain. You could try to find a ZIP of the Helios update
site and use it locally, but that's going to be a HUGE zip and I'm not
even sure if it's readily available to download.
In the situation of a machine without the ability to install from update
sites, I'd say the easiest solution is to just use separate
installations of Eclipse, one for CDT and another for Java. You probably
won't want CDT projects and Java projects in the same workspace anyway,
so having two installations isn't all that bad.
