Currently it takes my development team 2 days minimum to set up a usable J2ee workspace.

we are looking to automate this in an attempt to reduce workspace set up time.

i have been given the task of automating both eclipse server runtime environments and setting up local server instance.

I've come across OSGi and the p2 director, these sound as though they maybe what i am looking for upto a point.

can someone shed some light on whether or not i can use these solutions to install application server runtime environments such as jboss, weblogic, tomcat, and websphere (to name a few) automatically into eclipse please?

would it be possible to extend either OSGi or p2 director to do this?

or does eclipse not allow automated server runtime environment install?
