Hello,

when a web dynamic project is created in eclipse according to "WTP Tutorials - JavaServer Faces Tools Tutorial" then the file faces-config.xml is opened automatically in the faces config editor. Or when xhtml-files are then opened the palette with JSF-tags is being shown automatically.

However, when such a project is exported as war file and later imported on another machine then faces-config.xml is opened in a normal xml editor and for xhtml files no palette is being shown.

How come? What can I do so that the full structure of a web dynamic project is being ex- and imported? I quite often would like to edit a project on different machines via exporting it first and then importing it.

Regards,

Dom

After playig around a while I found that one has to go to the workspace and pack the complete project into a zip / tar file. On the new host make an import of "Existing Projects into Workspace" and select the zip file. That should be working, then. However, this seems to be some rather manual work which is astonishing.

Remains the question on what can be done for projects which have been exported and imported as war files to make them appear like a real copy of the original project.

Does anybody know?

Ok, the "manual" work can be solved by simply ex- and importing as type "File System" and making sure the option "Create directory structure for files" is activated. Then no "manual" intervention is needed.
