Something wrong happens when I load in my Target Platform
- RAP target platform
- ECF
- EMF for RAP

After I download EMF for RAP, ECF won't work anyway also if I pull out the EMF. The only thing for fixing this is to download again eclipse and repeat the setting 'till ECF.

What's wrong with EMF for RAP?

Hi Peter,
could you explain a little bit more (step-by-step) how did you setup
your target platform? Create it manually from RAP, ECF and EMF for RAP
downloads or use p2 repository?
Best,
Ivan

Hi Ivan,

I add to my target platform from p2 repository.

Another question: is normal that when I add from the zip file, Eclipse shows me a warning: "You have selected a target with a newer version than your current Eclipse installation. This can cause unexpected behaviour in PDE. Please use a newer version of Eclipse" (but instead I download again today the last version)?
Every day a new problem and I didn't see anything for my thesis... The prof ask me only a simple chat between two client in ECF because coffee is so far to do now.
Hope to get my degree soon.

Thank you all of you!

Hi Peter,
if you are using RAP target platform 1.4 Mx with Eclipse 3.6.x this
message is normal. The latest Eclipse version is 3.7 M6. About your
problem with ECF, I still don't understand how do you compose your
target and how the "ECF plugins disappear".
Best,
Ivan

Hi Ivan,
ok so should I use RAP 3.7 M6?
I compose my target platform in these steps:
- create a new target, initially empty
- add the directory of RAP
- add from 2p repository ECF (downloading it)
- add from 2p repository EMF for RAP target components
and now ECF plugins (that initially have almost 84 plugins) are 0.

That's the problem, but now it's not important because I'm trying to do the minimum for my thesis (I have to go away from this university!)

Cheers
