Hi Silvia,

the eTrice eclipse project does such an integration.
You can check it out from
http://git.eclipse.org/c/etrice/org.eclipse.etrice.git/

The Graphiti diagram editors edit parts of the model. Synchronization is on file save.
We also treat the problem of initializing the diagram.
The Graphiti UpdateFeature is used to discover invalid or added business objects.

Graphiti makes no assumptions on the persistence mechanism of the model.
It should be possible to use Xtext here, but we haven't found the time
to work on this yet. So AFAIK there is no ready-to-use example or
tutorial on this topic.

Holger and me have started working on that topis, but we're pretty busy
with other important things. Due to the fact that Graphiti even allows
to have different diagram / model synchronization strategies, it should
even be possible to deal with unsaved Xtext editors.
