[ATL] How to specify/analyse a transformation [message #657666] Thu, 03 March 2011 10:25 Go to next message

Hello everybody

I'm thinking about documenting a transformation and, as a result, I'am
asking myself : How could I depict the rules and helpers of my
transformation ???

Probably I shall have :
diagrams for my IN and OUT metamodel
extract of these diagrams with only the relevant elements for a
given rule or a helper
and some boxes/arrows to represent my transformation

This subject is not very practical, but, maybe some of you have already
thought of such issue, and even found some good way to achieve it

Best regards

Hi,
You can visualise the rules using QVT Graphical Syntax. I don't think there is any tooling for this yet but you can use Dia todo this manually. take a look at the QVT spec from OMG at http://www.omg.org/spec/QVT/1.1/PDF/ , specifically 7.13.7 Graphical Syntax
Regards,
Ronan

Hello Ronan,

Thank you for the link. I've found the concepts and views for
specifying a transformation in this specificatation, as you mentionned.

Kind regards
