Hello,

I'm using the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers with the ADT Plugin for Android apps. But I want to create C++ projects too. Which Eclipse version should I download? I see only the IDE for Jave OR for C++ ect. on the download site.

you can simply install the CDT plugins using the update site in your
current eclipse

hope this helps
Lorenzo

Don't feel you have to put it all into one Eclipse. I would not
recommend mixing Android and anything else you don't need for Android
development into the same Eclipse. Set your Eclipse CDT environment up
as a separate download.

Just my advice and it's by no means impossible to do it all in one as
long as it works for you.

I agree! I answered the other way around since he seemed to want to
install C++ in the same environment :)

Yes, I would like to have everything in the same IDE (I don't work with Java and C++ projects at the same time), if that's possible.

That's a good idea too. Eclipse does not have problems with multiple instances of the IDE on the same system?

You can have as many installations of Eclipse as you have space for on
your disk.

My experience is simply that the more I put into an Eclipse
installation, the less stable I find it. This came particularly to a
head when I began doing Android development. Once I endowed my Eclipse
JEE with Android, Eclipse crashed and hanged 6 ways from Sunday.

As I would not write C/C++ programs AND Java programs, I wouldn't
consider merging the two installations, but many have told me they do.

On Windows, I even give them separate icons so I can tell them apart on
the taskbar.
