Install Tomcat6 without starting Eclipse [message #650366] Mon, 24 January 2011 11:17 Go to next message

Hi,

I'd like to install a tomcat 6 server in my eclipse workspace without actually opening eclipse. I need to do this for my installer which should install eclipse and then automatically installes tomcat6 into it's workspace.

I just need to know which configuration files must be changed so that the tomcat server is displayed in my "Servers"-view.

I already compared an eclipse installation without any configurations and one in which I added the server but I could not find the needed configurations...

Thanks for your help Smile

When comparing workspaces with and without Tomcat, you will need to
include the ".metadata" folder. Most of the differences under that
folder will be found under ".plugins\org.eclipse.wst.server.core" folder.
