unable to launch Ecore Examples using 3D editor [message #647014] Mon, 03 January 2011 22:19 Go to next message

Hi Jens,

We have finally installed GEF3D and also we are able to see the camera.
The problems now are as follows:

1.We created a GEF3D example file and were able to see using 3D editor but we are a bit confused about using the camera as in are there any particular buttons, controls or combination of them to be used while changing the angle of the diagram or rotating the whole plane.

2.We created an Ecore diagram with just a single class in it to just taste the flavor of 3D effect. But when we open the Ecore diagram file with 3D editor, the eclipse session gets closed with the following errors on the parent eclipse session. Please also see the attached screen shot.

See http://wiki.eclipse.org/GEF3D_Camera

Cool, a "real" screen shot :-) Unfortunately it doesn't help me solving
your problem. Are there any exceptions (stack trace) or messages shown
in the error log?

The console log doesn't show any problems, I've got the very same
output. There should be some more output either in the console or in the
error log.

Cheers,
Jens

Hi Jens,
Thanks a lot for the reply. We are working for an international conference to be held on 21st Jan and we have to complete the 3D of the UML diagrams before that.
It would be a great help if you could help us on a close level as this is very critical for us.

Regarding the doubt below:
We are not getting any thing on stack trace or error log, plus console also does not say any thing more than this.
Is there any other file which we can send you to understand the problem?
If the 3D view of Ecore does not open we would not be able to use the camera there.
Although the 3D view of GEF3D examples if opening but we need Ecore as we specifically want to draw some UML diagrams in the 3D way.
