I have a project with a virtual directory, which is linked to a read-only directory on a network share. The problem I have is when I go to do a synchronise EGit is flagging this as a merge conflict, even though it should be ignoring it. I try to mark it as ignored, but it complains the directory is not writable (indeed it isn't).
I have placed a '.gitignore' in the base of my local cloned repository, but EGit seems to ignore that.
Is there any way to mark a linked read-only resource as ignored, so that EGit doesn't try including it in merges?
