[Xpand & Xtend] OCL to Java [message #645409] Fri, 17 December 2010 02:44 Go to next message

Hi,

does anyone know how I can generate Java Code from OCL constraints, which are in my models?

I know that there is some eclipse project which can transform OCL to Java, but is it also possible to use it within the context of Xpand/Xtend or at least in the MWE workflow?

I hope someone can help me out.

Best regards,
Muba

Hi Muba

You should really ask OCL: questions on the OCL forum, CCed.

I don't know of any OCL to Java capabilitu within Eclipse, but it is
high on the wish list for the Eclipse OCL project (but post Indigo) now
that OCL integrates much better with EMF and is re-used by Acceleo,
QVTo, GMF, Modisco ...

Xpand/Xtend do not use OCL, rather a pragmatic language with many
similarities. For instance OCL's "->" for collection navigation is
replaced by ".", which has some attractions but has major
incompatibilities with respect to implicit collect.

Anyone who wants to contribute to OCL to Java support is very welcome.
