Update Manager issue [message #64720] |

Hi,
I have built my application using Eclipse 3.4, but when I select the Help
menu, the "Software Updates ->" menu selection contains "Find and Install"
and
"Manage Configuration", instead of the new P2 style of menu selection
"Software Updates..." which when selected brings up the "Software Updates
and Add-ons" dlg.
How can I make my application bring up the new P2 style update manager
menu selections?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Best Regards,
Lisa Jett

IIRC you get old style update manager with SDK or PDE package. It's not in
every EPP. I may be wrong.

Go to Windows - Preferences -> General -> capabilities
Uncheck the "classic update". restart eclipse (if required).

Thanks for the suggestion, but I do not have a "Classic Update" option to
uncheck. I only have "Development" and "Team".
Something about my PDE build is preventing me from having that option &
from having the P2 style "Software Updates..." menu in my application.
Do you know what plugin I need to remove to get rid of the old-style
update manager from my application?

I do not have a "Classic Update" checkbox to uncheck. I have the p2
plugins in my application, as well as the org.eclipse.update.* plugins.
For some reason, the old-style Software Updates -> Find and Install and
Software Updates -> Manage Configuration menu items are being displayed,
instead of the p2 "Software Updates..." menu item.
What determines which menu item gets displayed?
