interactiondesign API in single sourcing? [message #643826] Wed, 08 December 2010 07:46 Go to next message

Folks;

looking into the Business and Fancy theme, we started to play with the
interactiondesign API which seems to do a pretty good job - but just as
far as the RAP is concerned, which is not quite what we want/need,
talking about single-sourcing. So, are there any plans / approaches
towards porting or making this API independent of RAP and usable along
with RCP, as well?

TIA and all the best,
Kristian

Hi Kristian,
the interaction design API is basically an extension of the
Presentation API. Some things can't be done with the Presentation API,
e.g. styling the menu. Currently we have no plans to contribute this
API to RCP. But if you want to use it with RCP please feel free to port
it. This would be a huge improvement for the RCP styling. So, if you
want to do this I can support you through the development. Hope this
helps.

Regards Holger
