Hi Hussein,
although it is mostly possible to run e4 applications on RAP [1], I would
not recommend to start a new RAP application with e4 at the moment.
The work on e4 is still in an early state and I don't see much adoption
right now. There is neither public API, nor tooling for the new
programming concepts.
You're asking about the benefits of RAP:
- Code reuse: Web and desktop apps from a single shared codebase
- Modularity: the full power of OSGi for web applications
- Use of Eclipse technology: Use existing technology like EMF, BIRT ...
- Programming model: Use your familiar development environment: Code
assists, automatic refactorings, unit tests, debugging ...
does this suffice to convince you? ;-)
