Info needed on Model philosophies in GRAPHITI [message #642423] Wed, 01 December 2010 04:44 Go to next message

Hello,

I have been working through the examples/tutorials of graphiti and it seems to work alright. But I am finding it a little difficult to understand the basics of the way various models (PictogramModel, LinkModel domain model) communicate and are dependent on each other.

Could someone please direct me in the right direction to find the information on the model philosophies in Graphiti.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Murthy

Hi Murthy,

the pictogram model containes the graphical information.
The domain model contains the model elements you want
to represent graphically.
The Link model (basically the links, it is in fact a mini-model) connects
the two worlds.
This setup reflects two basic requirements:
1. domain model elements can exist without graphical representation
2. graphical representations can exist without domain model elements

Best regards, Tim
