Hello,

I've been using Eclipse to try out some Android stuff and generally have found it very, very good (previously mostly a C++ developer using VC++).

However, I would like to disable the icons giving warnings and errors to left of the line numbers in the document editing window and the wiggly red lines which appear. These are helpful but I find them annoying when they flash on and off about things I am about to sort out. So I'd like to be able to disable them when I start editing a file but then re-enable them to check my work when I've done. (Ideally through a keyboard shortcut).

I have hunted around a lot on the preferences and internet, trying...

Window->Preferences->Java->Editor->Report Problems as you Type

But with no luck. Can this be done? And if so how?

Cheers,

G

Disabling this preference should do the trick. Once this is disabled,
the error markers will appear only when you save the file.

If this is not what you desire, you could turn off Project > Build
Automatically.
