I'm a Java developer who is only _browsing_ C++ code in a CVS repository. I
thought I'd give CDT a try since I'm already using Eclipse, but so far I'm
no better off with CDT than with a Resource perspective. I'm having two
problems: first, I can't use the C Editor for .h files because Eclipse is
hanging when I try to open one; and second, searching for references hardly
finds anything - I can't make sense of the search scope.
I have no compiler or build tools installed because I only want to browse
the code. Is there some minimal environment that I'm missing to do this?
I'm really hoping that browsing code would be nicer with CDT, and also
figuring I'd get a quick look at CDT and show it to the C++ developers here.
I've tried to install CDT 1.0.1 GA over Eclipse 2.0.2 on a Windows 2000
platform, but with no luck.
Thanks,
Ian Graham

This may be unrelated but I get occasional hangs opening any sort of file in
a CDT project.
This is on linux and sometimes I see "fstat" messages in the console
appearing at the same time.
