Hi,

I would like to be able to have access from the Properties to the ConnectionPolicy:name. I would like to move ConnectionPolicyType from Connection to ConnectionPolicy and also have access to the drop down as shown in Figure 2.

I can think of three possible solutions (last one is experimental):
1. Represent ConnectionPolicy in your diagram somehow (as a child node). But from your description it seems you don't like this option.
2. Move the attributes of ConnectionPolicy into Connection model object since each Connection is always associated with one ConnectionPolicy instance.
3. In your edit plugin locate ConnectionItemProvider class and implement a new method like addConnectionPolicyNamePropertyDescriptor(). Here you would have to follow existing addXXXPropertyDecscriptor() methods and only change the structural feature into the corresponding structural feature of ConnectionPolicy class. You would also need to override the getChildFeature() method of ConnectionItemProvider in order to return the corresponding child feature of the ConnectionPolicy child object.
As I have stated above, solution 3 is complex and you'd probably face few more problems I haven't foreseen here (i've never done something like that myself). If you cannot resolve into either option 1 or 2, let's wait for an expert for a better approach
