Concrete models and VTCL transformations [message #638004] Tue, 09 November 2010 10:48 Go to next message

Hello:

I am a beginner and trying to implement simple transformations to learn the VIATRA framework. I executed all the beginner's transformation tutorials successfully but now I am stuck in Activitytopetrinet transformation case study. The structure of the project and the files available in the project folder are quite understandable. However, I can not understand how the transformations written in VTCL files reference the input activity diagrams? In the UML folder in this example there are three activity models, activity_prb, activity_complex and activity_forkjoin. The transformation instance in the program model is referring which of these activities is really un-understandable for me.
In the VPML structure as well, I can see the meta-models but there is nothing about the model instances. When I execute this transformation, I simply get a message "Transformation Terminated". Can anyone help?

Regards

Quratulann

The VPM model space does not contain the required instance models, as you have already seen.

Before you can run the transformation, you have to use the UML importer (see the following wiki page for more details: http://wiki.eclipse.org/VIATRA2/GettingStarted/Using_Transfo rmations - it describes how to run this simple transformation).

The transformation description wiki page has been updated to emphasize this link.
