Hi, I'm stumbling at the first hurdle when trying to use git in Eclipse. Which of these two should I tick, EGit, JGit or both?

Can we add the installation instructions to the User Guide?

Hi Alex,

JGit is a Java implementation of Git and EGit is a Eclipse integration
of JGit.See http://www.jgit.org/ Then you should install both.

If you want to use the Git Team Provider and the EGit UI in Eclipse (that's what EGit basically provides) select EGit, this will also include JGit since EGit is depending on it. Installing JGit without EGit could make sense if you want to develop some new functionality on top of it.
