BIRT in eclipse without design IDE [message #629498] |

Hello,
We are provisioning an RCP client, that makes use of BIRT reporting.
Normally that is quite easy, because we can include the BIRT feature and get all the richness of the BIRT, including the designer IDE .
However the BIRT designer IDE makes references to the JDT and Debug framework.
Which means that we end up with a huge RCP client, when resolving all these dependencies.
So we would like to provide an RCP client wit "naked" Birt, that just provides report-viewing (in various formats) but no design (unless the user want's to do hardcore XML-scraping ).
However, when removing the dependencies from the BIRT designer IDE, we also loose the commands in the run menu
- View Report as ...
- Generate Document ...
I know, I could programmatically regenerate these menu entries.
However: is there an easy way, to exclude the designer features, but to keep the Viewing Items in the Menu?
Thank you
Michael
