We haven't tested it on OSX, but it should work. First you need to use
the correct pre-reqs. It requires Eclipse 2.1.2, not 2.1.1, and you will
need the GEF 2.1.2 and EMF 1.1.1. These are listed as pre-reqs on the
build download page.

However, I was just pointed to a bugzilla bug that indicates we don't
support OSX. So your milage may vary.

Are there any plans of adding support for MacOSX anytime?

I use Eclipse daily my MacOSX and whenever I have to use any other
platform I happily update from CVS and continue working. The one thing I
cannot work in this way is VE. Is it a problem with the underlying
frameworks (GEF)? If so, I will forward this to the appropriate group
(any improvements on this front would be inherited by the VE project). Is
it a problem of target marketshare or lack of resources (eg. testing
MacOSX box)?

I remember back in the 2.x days that I nearly got VE running (apart from
some mainly drawing glitches), that was an indication that there were not
fundamental technical obstacles in supporting OSX (I might be wrong
though).

Thx,

Oops, just checked out 'https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=
47716' and there seems to be a lot of progress since I last checked it
out. Great job.

I can't help noticing the slowness problem though (slow G4 user here
^_^).

thx.
