Greeting,

The display of images in PDF does not depend on whether they are inserted
into the report from "URI" or "Embedded image".
If you'd like to insert an image to the report from "URI", please add a
quote like this : "http://......."

At present, .bmp and .jpg images could be displayed in PDF format. However,
due to the limitation of FOP, the other 2 popular image formats (.gif and
..png) cannot be displayed in PDF format. But you could download JIMI or JAI
from http://xml.apache.org/fop/ to support all kinds of image formats.

(Because of licensing issues, the JIMI image library and JAI (Java Advanced
Imaging API) are not included in the FOP distribution.)

In addition, if you inserted an image into the Master page header / footer,
and the size of the inserted image is beyond its container (header /
footer), the image cannot be presented in PDF as well. The reason is that
FOP does not support the clip attribute or auto-resize, instead of that, it
simply ignores the image.

An alternative way to resolve the problem is to resize the header/footer.
Please go to Master Page -> Property Editor -> Resize the header/footer
height. Please make sure the size of image is smaller than its container.

Cheers.

Regards,
Nina
