I have checked the website as instructed (I am using a Windows OS) and
everything seems to be OK. I have run a netstat, and it says that
javaw.exe is using port 1098 - I assume this is the process that calls the
RMID daemon?
Anyway, I've not had much luck getting my projects to run, so any help
would be gratefully received!
I am running Eclipse 3.0(.02) using j2re1.4.2_06. Am I missing a plug-in
or something? It's very frustrating. Grateful for any advice or pointers.

James, I've never seen this error, but am writing just so you don't feel all
alone ;-) Have you been able to run any project at all? Even a "hello
world!" one? If so, uh, *shrug*; else, it could be an installation issue
(though there's not much "installation" involved in unzipping the
distribution!), and a reinstall may help.
