J2ME Foundation on "full" Windows [message #61873] Thu, 16 February 2006 12:06 Go to next message

In Jeff and Jean-Michel's book, they note that Eclipse RCP can run on the
J2ME Foundation profile rather than a full J2SE.

This would be a good deployment option for some of my projects even where
the client platform is "full" Windows, ie XP or W2K, due to the download
size of a full JRE. However I have been unable to find an implementation
of FP - it only seems to be available for micro-platforms such as Pocket
PC, embedded Linux, etc.

Does anybody know where I can find the download I need - or does it just
not exist?

Thanks
Neil

Oops I should have looked a little harder.

For anybody else with the same question:
1) Download and install WebSphere Studio Device Developer
2) Look in C:\Program
Files\IBM\DeviceDeveloper\wsdd5.0\ive-2.2\runtimes\win32

Cheers
Neil
