ECF 0.8.3 stable [message #603978] Mon, 29 May 2006 14:58
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi Folks,

ECF 0.8.3 stable now available at:

http://www.eclipse.org/ecf/downloads.html

There is not going to be a New and Noteworthy for this stable release,
as it was essentially a bug fix release. These are the bugs that were
fixed:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=142501
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=143681
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=142040
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=143953

This release can/does run properly on Eclipse 3.1.2 as well as the 3.2.X
stream.

API documentation was added...particularly for the example apps:
http://www.eclipse.org/ecf/org.eclipse.ecf.docs/api/

A new example client was added to org.eclipe.ecf.example.clients plugin:
org.eclipse.ecf.example.clients.SORobotApplication.

Source documentation was added to the org.eclipse.ecf.example.client.*
examples, and several of these examples were refactored for clarity.

For the next several weeks (until the June 26 Eclipse platform/Callisto
release), ECF is going to have a stable 'point' release every week
(probably Mon of each week). This will allow us to better support the
Google SOC projects based upon ECF, as well as the Corona project also
now running their prototypes on ECF.

So expect a point release with bug fixes and small improvements to the
core APIs every week for the next month.
