Issue in building feature by fetching it from repository [message #60091] Thu, 07 May 2009 07:40 Go to next message

Concerning Eclipse 3.4.1
I am trying to build my feature by fetching it from repository.
I followed the following path in Eclipse Help Contents - Plug-in
Development Environment Guide > Tasks > PDE Build Advanced Topics >
Fetching from Repositories
I made a map file which contains entries for all my features and plugins,
except eclipse plugins such as org.apache.xerces, org.apache.xml.resolver,
etc.

Hence I am getting an error as 'Missing expected directory
org.apache.xerces...'
I dont get it, how am I supposed to fetch these plugins from CVS when its
not even present there ?

Regards,
Nitin Bohara

Hello Nitin,

If you want to includes org.apache.x* bundles in your feature, then you
have to fetch them from Orbit. See
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Easy_Bake_Builds_with_Orbit_Bundles for more
details.
If necessary, you can ask the Orbit newsgroup (eclipse.tools.orbit)

I tried this but its not working, reason being the server on which the
build is to be performed does not have access to internet and hence can
not fetch the plugin bundles from Orbit.
Is it possible for me to fetch these plugins from the directory where
eclipse is installed on my server? If yes, what should be the appropriate
entry in the .map file ?
I would really appreciate it if someone could quote an example.
