Hello,

I have been designing processes using patterns, tasks, etc and now
consider them as a base, contained in a base plug-in.

I have been developing evolutions of the tasks being currently in use, and
designed them as *contributions* to the base tasks. For example I am
contributing steps. The contributing tasks are in a separate plug-in,
which references the base plug-in.
I have made a new configuration (that extends the base configuration to
include the contributing plug-in) the default configuration for my base
processes. Looks like I need to do this to see the contributions. #Can you
confirm this?#

Now, when publication is done with "method content NOT in descriptor
pages", then by default contributed steps only show in tasks, not in
descriptors, unless you go to the task descriptor and add the steps
manually. You can have a different order in the task (edited in the
contributing task) and in the task descriptor (edited in the descriptor
itself).

If "method content is in descriptor pages", then you need to edit the
existing descriptors to see the contributions.

Here comes the real question: my GOAL was to manage variations of a base
process without modifying it, using 2 configurations (one with the
contributing plug-in, another one without) to publish 2 different versions
of my process (the one with the taks-level contributions, and the one
without).
Now I can see that unles I go and edit manually all the existing taks
descriptors, the task steps contributed will NOT show up in any if the 2
publications, if I use "method content is in descriptor pages".

# Did I miss anything? I fI didn't is this by design, or would that be a
potential suggestion, like "automatic add of all available steps in task
descriptors"?#

Thank You for your feedback, and any advice on how to achive differently
the same goal.

Régis.
