Hi there,

I'm a journalist based in Sydney, Australia, and am writing a story for
The Australian newspaper on the emergence and possible invasion of open
source reporting tools.

I've spoken to a couple of vendors and analysts so far, but am keen to
include in the story some views and feedback from users themselves on why
they chose BIRT and how it has been so far.

My deadline for this story is .. hmm .. Wednesday 20 July midday Sydney
time, ie around 10pm New York time Tuesday 19 July.

I'm happy to talk on email (victoria@mediaconnectasia.com), on the list or
on the phone (I can call), and would really appreciate any help anyone
could give me on this. What I'm after is an insight into why you chose to
try out BIRT, and your thoughts on its effectiveness for your needs. If
you had any views on whether open source reporting tools could invade the
proprietary space, that would be great too.

Answers can be on or off the record.

Do hope a few of you can help, anything you can offer would be great.

Best, Victoria.
