Auto-Start option in Run-Configuration doesn't start bundles [message #58128] Thu, 23 April 2009 23:33 Go to next message

Just noticed that in 3.5M6 under "Run-Configuration" > "Plug-ins" I can
set specific bundles to "Auto-Start". This is great as it removes the need
(for me at least) to maintain a config.ini file for that purpose. Except
that it doesn't work: The OSGi console lists the bundles I configured as
"Auto-Start: true" as RESOLVED, and I still have to execute "start n" to
start them. Did I misunderstand this feature, or is it just not working
yet?

This sounds like a bug, can you file a bug against PDE?

Also, autostarting everything is a BAD IDEA, why do you need to do this?

Looks like this was already reported and is fixed for 3.5M7:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=263952

Actually I just need to auto-start one additional module (Spring
extender)...
