Product configuration on other platforms [message #57381]

There are a number of places in the product configuration editor where
there are tabs for each of linux, macosx, solaris and win32 so that the
product configuration can be tailored to those platforms. Why is this
not done for all platforms?

For example I want to include a custom config.ini for all platforms, so
that the default workspace location is @user.home/workspace, but there
is no way to do this that I can see. I can do it for the platforms
above, but not for hp-ux, or aix, which we also intend to support. I
would also like to include a jre for these platforms, is there a way to
do this?
