Galileo SR2 Source for development [message #568522] Wed, 12 May 2010 22:56 Go to next message

All,

I am trying to locate the entire source package for the Galileo SR2. I downloaded the binaries from: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technolo gy/epp/downloads/release/galileo/SR2/eclipse-cpp-galileo-SR2 -linux-gtk.tar.gz&url=http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/eclipse/ technology/epp/downloads/release/galileo/SR2/eclipse-cpp-gal ileo-SR2-linux-gtk.tar.gz&mirror_id=272

The only source of eclipse that I was able to locate was at: http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.5.2- 201002111343/sourceBuilds.php

Honestly after going around in vicious loops, I am now confused about the exact difference b/n Eclipse 3.5.2 and Galileo SR2. Would SR2 be a plug-in that I have to install? Please guide me. My development platform is Ubuntu > 8.10

Highly appreciate your inputs. Thank you.

Regards,
Punya

The EPP packages are meant to me ready-to-go packages that consist
of contributions from many Eclipse projects and often don't
contain source (the reason being, is that it
would double the size in many cases).

The one you named is for C++ development. Is that what you wanted?
If you wanted the source for CPP related code, you could search for
the Eclipse CPP project, and get its source directly.

(BTW, its generally recognized we don't have a very good solution
to satisfy both audiences, those wanting minimum to get their work
done, and those wanting source).
