Inside my project I show some CDO content inside a TreeViewer.
The content I get from an opened CDOView of the CDOSession.

To work with the objects, I react of doublick on TreeViewer and load the
selected object over a new Transaction.

But sometimes (duration till /or reason why its closed is
unidentifyable) I get the message CDOView ist closed.

With some Listeners I found out, the complete session will be deactived
through the Lifecycle method.

In my code the only point where I deactive this are inside the shutdown
methodes of rcp.

Exists an point inside the CDOSession or on server side, whrere will be
do this automaticly.
Or can somebody point me, how I can find out the deactivation-reason?

Thanks in advance
Heiko

Hi Heiko,

Some possibilities for passive deactivation of a client session are active deactivation of the server session or network failure in combination with a heartbeat protocol.

Have you tried to set a breakpoint on CDOSessionImpl.onDeactivate()? Please show us the full stack trace at that time.

Cheers
/Eike

Hi Eike,
thanks for your quick answer.

Today, I try over 2 hours with debug mode to recreate the error.
But notime the system steps into the CDOSessionImpl.doDeactivateMethod().
The onDeactivate() I doesn't found, so I think you mean the method above.

The only one log entries, I get are:

[INFO] Commit notification arrived while view is inactive

But I can go on working.

Adding Breakpoints to the HeartBeatProtocol, do also nothing, it doesn't
step notime inside this points. :(

The error with the deactivated view are very rarly, so I think at the
moment it comes with network errors.
So I will try to add some listeners to some more points an try to log
all deactivation calls.

Greetings

Heiko

Yes, this one: org.eclipse.emf.internal.cdo.session.CDOSessionImpl.doDeacti vate()

That happens if you close a client view/transaction while the server is currently sending commit notifications. A normal situation.

Hi Eike,

the mistake was mine.

In a very special case inside a command handler, I closed the whole
session instead the opend transaction. :(

Greetings
Heiko
