Hello Eclipse Users,

I am using Helios and trying out the OCL Developer Guide "Tutorial: Working with OCLinEcore". I have installed the MDT/OCL Examples, but I cannot edit my ecore model as OCLinEcore because the OCLinEcore editor is missing.

On the popup menu, I can see the following menu items:

(i) "Sample Ecore Model Editor"
(ii) "Sample Reflective Ecore Model Editor"
(iii) "Text Editor"

I have checked the "other" list of editors but it is not there. I want to file a bug report but before then, i want to ask other users if it is indeed a bug worth filing.

Thanks

Hi xsdt

Did you notice the bit near the top of the tutorial where it says

"Installing the MDT/OCL Examples

The OCLinEcore editor is not part of the core OCL functionality included
in the Eclipse Modeling Tools Package, so although you may have OCL
installed and be able to read this tutorial via the
Help->HelpContents->OCL Developer Guide, you may not have the OCL
examples installed."

Hi xsdt

Sorry, just read your message again. You have tried to install MDT/OCL
examples. Can you use Help->About Eclipse->Installation
Details->Plug-ins and see whether you have an
org.eclipse.ocl.examples.xtext.oclinecore.ui?

[Did you restart Eclipse?]

Does the Window->Show View->Error Log show anything interesting?

What other projects are installed? I've found at least two known
contributions that can have adverse effects on modeling projects.

Hi Edward Willink,

Thanks for your reposnse. I don't have org.eclipse.ocl.examples.xtext.oclinecore.ui, what I found was "
OCL Examples and Editors 3.0.0.v201005061704-86--FK_Qj3ikcpMySrS org.eclipse.ocl.examples.feature.group"

Does that mean I have not installed the MDT/OCL Examples properly? How else could one do this, other than following the instructions given in the document.

Thanks

Hello All,

I have just found the reason I was not seeing the OCLinEcore editor. The Helios that I am using was installed on Linux [Mandriva] with Admin permission, but I then installed the MDT/OCL Examples with a different permission. After installing the MDT/OCL Examples with Admin permission, I can now see the menu item: "OCLinEcore (Ecore) Editor".

Thanks all.
