Hi,
I am a relative noob to EMF. I have the early adopters version of eclipse e4 installed and I have been trying to instal the emf tools. I have the emf sdk installed however I can not work out how to get the emf diagram editor installed. Anyone able to provide assistance as to how this is installed and where I can get the download from. I had it working in an older version of eclipse but have been unsuccessful for the e4 version.

Thanks

Pete

Pete,

All the dependencies for it should be in the Helios update site. I'm
just not sure e4 itself satisfies all the dependencies for Ecore tools.
Of course you could use regular Eclipse as the IDE and then target e4
for your development rather than trying to self host in e4...

Hi Ed,
Thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I was going to do tonight just to get by. It would be nice though if one version of eclipse could be used for all. EMF being a plugin to Eclipse, I would have thought the tools sdk would include the required dependencies. I would simple expect to have to install the EMF SDK then the tools feature.

Pete,

Ecore Tools has a significantly large stack of dependencies, such as GMF
and all its dependencies, in addition to just EMF core itself. In not
even sure if GEF is working for e4...

Ed,
I have been finding that the dependency stack is quite large. I just can not seem to get all dependencies installed, so I will just use my Helios install to do my modeling then code in E4.
As far as I can tell, it looks as though EMF ins working on E4, I just can't seem to find the Diagram editor toll install. EMF project wizards installed and working.

Thanks

Pete

Ed,
I have been finding that the dependency stack is quite large. I just can not seem to get all dependencies installed, so I will just use my Helios install to do my modeling then code in E4. No big deal just would be nice if I could have everything available in the one IDE. Thanks for your advice.
