Hi!
What query language is supported by ODBO?
I need after loading instance of one meta model translate into another one. So, is it necessary to develop custom store with that functionality?And where I can download examples of developing custom stores?

Hi Miranda,

Forgive me my ignorance but I've never heard of ODBO or its supported
query languages. And, honestly, I can't see the relation between model
transformation and custom CDO stores. Maybe you want to elaborate?

All the IStore implementations that we ship may serve as examples. The
framework does not distinguish between built-in and custom store types.
There's a primer on devloping custom stores:
http://www.eclipse.org/cdo/documentation/manual_20.php?topic =extenders/developing_custom_stores
.. But be aware, we didn't have the time, yet, to update it with respect
of the new 3.0 functionality.

Cheers
/Eike

Thank you.
Sorry, not ODBO, but OODB. Very Happy
And I could not find any example from that link.

For examples browse the source code of:
* MEMStore
* DBStore
* HibernateStore
* ObjectivityStore

There's also an example attached to bug 252255: Give support to Open
Source object-oriented database
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=252255

Cheers

Hi,
what are the important factors when you are choosing the type of the backend repository? What is the query language supported by OODB?

Hi Miranda,

I think the factors to choose a backend type are outside of my scope. From a CDO perspective it may be important to understand the consequences of a choice. Can you please submit a bugzilla to remind me to write up a comparison article?

I suspect that each particular OODB type supports its own (set of?) query language(s). CDO offers a convenient SPI to easily integrate any sort of backend query language. Ibrahim may want to elaborate on our Objectivity query support...

Cheers
