I have a dataset which I am using to supply data to a table and pie chart - basically they show the same info but in a different form. The table is first in the report, the chart below.

From logging I see the query is executed twice, once for table and again for chart. I vaguely remember seeing you can generate the pie straight from the table to save the second query. I have given the table a name and can select it in the "Use data from" drop down of the chart (where you would normally select a dataset). I thuoght it would work but I get the following error:

Am I doing something wrong or is this actually possible at all?

What version are you using. BIRT 2.5.2 should not be re-executing the
query if nothing changed. Can you try and run the attached report? It
binds the pie chart to the table before it.

I'm using 2.3.2 RCP designer and will be deploying it to 2.5.1. runtime. I will try it in 2.5.1 designer as well. Can you send that report to trevor<dot>higgins<at>fineos<dot>com, as its not completely visible below.
