Strange errors with Resource Map editor [message #536696] Sat, 29 May 2010 23:39 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
I am a complete newcomer to Buckminster and I am having problems creating my first resource map. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit with a 32 bit Sun JDK (1.6.0_b20) on Eclipse 3.6RC3 and I am working with the following file.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<rm.rmap xmlns:rm="http://www.eclipse.org/buckminster/RMap-1.0">
<rm:searchPath name="EcfGenericServer">
<rm:provider componentTypes="osgi.bundle,eclipse.feature" readerType="p2" source="false" mutable="false">
<rm:uri format="http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/3.6"/>
</rm:provider>
</rm:searchPath>
</rm.rmap>

When I try to load the file (it has been edited by hand with the Eclipse XML editor), I get the following errors:

org.eclipse.emf.ecore.resource.impl.ResourceSetImpl$1Diagnos ticWrappedException: org.eclipse.emf.ecore.xmi.PackageNotFoundException: Package with uri 'null' not found. (platform:/resource/org.petaapan.ecfgenericserver.updatesite /EcfGenericServer.rmap, 2, 65)

You have a typo in the top element. "rm.rmap" instead of "rm:rmap". Try correcting that :-)

I think that the font and font size used in the forum web pages make it look as if rm could be mm. It certainly looked like that to me but when I checked the original source in Eclipse I used rm everywhere.

The problem isn't rm or mm. The problem is that you use a dot instead of a colon.
