How to ignore a symlinked folder in a validator [message #536356] Thu, 27 May 2010 14:35
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi,

I am dealing with the need to create an eclipse project by putting symbolic links to the source folders in another location on the hard drive under the eclipse project. Because they are version controlled, I cannot delete certain folders that I am not interested in having be a part of the project.

While it is possible to ignore those symlinked folders as far as the Java builder is concerned, I can't seem to ignore them as far as the WTP validators (WSDL and XML) are concerned. When I try to add an exclude group with a rule for them, the folder menu, while allowing me to select them, does not pass them on to the rule text field; in addition, entering the path by hand into the field and clicking "OK" leads to the rule being set for a file, not a folder--and being ignored during build anyway.

Any help?

Thanks,

Alexandros
