This is pretty basic, and I'm probably doing something silly, but the EGit download page at:

http://www.eclipse.org/egit/download/

has a link that it recommends to tell you how to install EGit:

http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates

This is just a blank page...

That makes EGit a bit hard to install.

But before you even get to wondering how to install it, you can't get the file(s). When you click on the "download" link on

http://www.eclipse.org/egit/download/

it just takes you back to the same page and nothing downloads.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Best wishes

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

this is our update site URL meant for installing EGit via the p2 update
manager.
We still have not put some html to the site which describes what a user is
supposed to do.

You can do it the following way:
In your Eclipse IDE, select Help -> Install New Software...
In the dialog, press the Add button and enter the URL, together with a
meaningfull name.
Now Check the "Eclipse Git Team Provider (Incubation)" node, press next and
finish.

The URL is:

http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates/

I take it. That all seems to work.

Thanks Smile

Hi Stefan ,

I want to use EGIT with IBM Websphere Integration Developer (WID) which is also eclipse based. WID is having installatin manager for new installs or to update or uninstall. for installing new plugin we need to configure repository that is give path of either repository.config or diskTag.inf in preferences.

Please let me know how to use eGIT gui with IBM WID?

Regards
Kavita
