I am having difficulty starting eclipse. I tried both, the gtk and motif
version and in both i get the same error.
'Problems during startup. Check the ".log" file in the ".metadata"
directory of your workspace.'
Now the thing is I can't even find the .metadata folder or the .log files
or the workspace folder. It is not in my home directory and neither is it
in the eclipse folder. I also tried giving the -data <my workspace>
parameter. I got the same result. I also installed eclipse into my home
folder, same thing.

Can someone please help me out as to what might be going on? Been trying
to get eclipse working for a while with absolutely no progress. Thank you.

Once again i am trying to install this on my RH 8 machine.

Permissions problem? Likely it can't create the workspace directory.
