OK. So "Close of Business" clearly means 11:59 in some part of the
world!!
I've posted revision 0.9 of the project creation review deck to the wiki
( http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/COSMOS_Project_Creation_Re view).
I've also updated the agenda for tomorrow
( http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/COSMOS_Project_Creation_Re view)
A few notes:
Don Ebright and I discussed the "blok-i-tecture" of the data collection
component. This resulted in a significant refinement of the picture
(see slide 20). The result is that the boundaries of what is a
"reporting app" and what is a "data collection app" are much cleaner.
This resulted in being able to articulate what we can share with TPTP.
Oliver and I spent some time talking through the deliverables for BtM
(now renamed "Management Enablment"). There are some interesting use
cases that we covered. As I was adding them to the deck, I felt that a
more appropriate place for this information would be the wiki. For the
creation review, we could simply declare we are use case driven and
state at a high level what we'll build. I'll try to get the net of this
discussion on the wiki tomorrow or early next week. The BtM component
team, (now the ME TEAM) should plan on meeting to refine the details of
the ideas.
Valentina and I exchanged a few e-mails on the deliverables of resource
modeling. An early draft of the deck had a fairly detailed list. This
has been shortened to cover the main points. The detail is now on the
wiki
( http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/CosmosResourceModelingComp onent#Project_Scope).
Steve J. still needs to review this slide to make sure this is OK.
I've taken an initial pass at flushing out the operational
characteristics of the project. This is really just me filling some
information that Toni had but since she's out for vacation the next few
days. When the project gets created, we'll need to be ready to make
these official. As an FYI, there is still an undecided U.S. House of
Representative seat being decided in NC
( http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2006//pages/results/states/NC/in dex.html).
We are approaching a significant milestone and I'd like to thank
everyone for their time and effort!
