I'm using VE with Eclipse 3.4 on a Mac and it's working fine, and I
think (but will not bet my money or my life that) it's still somewhat alive.
I also use WindowBuilder from Instantiations
(http://www.instantiations.com/windowbuilder/index.html) which is an
excellent commercial product, not terribly expensive, and also works
very well. Instantiations has many years of experience with Eclipse (and
its predecessor VisualAge) and visual editing, and if you're looking for
a commercial product I recommend their stuff from many years of first
hand experience as a developer.
