Hello,
Apology:
It might not be the right place to ask this question but for 2 (two) days I'm trying to post it to the "Newcomers" forum.
Sorry for that!
Situation:
In spite of having created an account, and being logged in when I try to create a "Now Topic" in the "Newcomers" forum I'm always redirected to the Account creation Web Page!
Tried to inform the "webmaster" but a message stating "Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed" pops up!?!
Question/Problem:
I am trying to set up a development environment in a client (Windows - Eclipse) - server (Linux - specific Java application and libraries) configuration. After establishing the required library paths to the server (as network drives), I started Eclipse and set up the workspace on a directory created by myself (by hand). Then I was trying to create a Java project to check the installation, adding the required libraries. When I try to finalize the project creation, Eclipse is complaining with an Error Message Box as follows:
"Error creating Java Project
An error occured while creating the Java Project
Reason:
File: /<projectName>/.classpath is read-only"
Note:
Eclipse (3.5.1) installation was done in ...\Documents and Settings\...\MyDocuments\Eclipse3.5.1\eclipse directory, and workspace was initially established in ...\Documents and Settings\...\MyDocuments\Eclipse3.5.1\workspace directory
Actions:
1. Verified permissions on "workspace" directory: they are set to Full Control for the user account used to login, with option 'Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate ...' checked.
2. Moved the workspace two levels up (under ...\Documents and Settings\...) with same permissions and option for the logging in user account.
Results:
Same error is preventing creation of the Java project.
Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
amic
