Is there a reason Project / Clean does not mvn clean? [message #518001] Tue, 02 March 2010 12:50

It sure seems to me that when I ask eclipse to clean a maven project it should it use mvn clean to get that done (or at least include it). Now, I know I can add clean to the list of goals that occur after Project / Clean ..., but I'd need to do this to every project individually. Also, those goals seem to fire just before the next build, not actually at the time of the Project / Clean (so a seqence like Project / Clean, Run Maven install, Project / Build Project is very non-intuitive). Finally, there is already a bug report in Jira (https://issues.sonatype.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-156) which claims this functionality was added to 0.0.11. So, other people thought this was the right thing to do at some time. In other words, why should I not file a new bug report to ask that this be fixed again?
