Hi,
I am using the buckminster build command to build plugins/features. I noticed that compile errors are printed to the
log. But I want it to 'fail' (with an exception) so that I can let the build fail as a whole (when calling from ant). Is
that possible?

The process exists with a non zero error code in case there are compilation errors. So the answer is yes, that is possible.
