VE Plugin for Eclipse 3.0 [message #51742]

I have installed the plug-in but when I try to enable it in Help >
Software Updates > Manage Configuration, I get the message:

Requested operation cannot be performed because it would invalidate the
current configuration. See details for more information.
Java EMF Model (0.5.0) requires feature "org.eclipse.jdt (2.1.1)", or
compatible.

The version of org.eclipse.jdt installed by default with Eclipse 3.0 is
v3.0.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
